Where is the show being held?
The previous few shows were at St Michael’s School in Chorley  and proved to be a first class venue. We are planning to return for 2019 We will be adding a map & directions on this web site soon.

The advert says “Scouts & Guides” does that mean Cubs can’t take part?
No, not at all, we’ve extended the age range to allow Beavers and Rainbows to take part so if you are a member of the Scout or Guide Associations as a young person or a Leader then yes, you can take part in the Cast.

I’m a Helper/Parent and I’d like to do my bit. Can I ?”
Yes you can, you can’t be a member of the Cast but we’ve got lots of different ways you can help out. Just come along to the sign-up or one of the Rehearsals and ask one of the Team for more info.

“Is there a fee for Cast to take part?”
Yes, we keep the fee to a minimum, this time, the fee will probably be £20 per person as a one-off payment. This covers the cast t-shirt, a badge, refreshments at rehearsals and the show and the Cast party. This year, it also includes a Double DVD which includes a photo CD and a video of the show. Beavers/Rainbows will probably only pay £10 as they will only take part in the first part of the show.

I can’t afford the £20 for my Son/Daughter to take part, what help can I get?
Many Groups will be doing fundraising throughout the year and we suggest this should be the first way in which the cost can be covered. Failing that, there are safeguards in place to ensure that no young person is excluded from the show on the grounds of cost. Please ask any of the Committee for further information.

Why a Gang Show? I thought Scouts & Guides were all about outdoor activities?
Scouts & Guides do excel in camping and adventurous activities but the ethos of both organisations is to provide a very varied, balanced programme to suit all young people. We know of many young people who have discovered a love for new topics they had never considered through a taster session.
Chorley Capers provides an opportunity for young people (and adults) to experience performing arts plus a whole range of other skills like audio & lighting, stage management, makeup & wardrobe and much more.
